Baptisms at Whitney Point United Methodist Church

March 1, 2026 was a special day for our small church in Whitney Point. Six children were baptized into our church family. A few years ago, we began to regrow our Sunday School. It started with 2 children and has now expanded to 10 children. They are there most Sunday mornings full of energy and ready to learn about God. A few months ago, one of them watched an episode of Young Sheldon and decided he wanted to be baptized. This led to several lessons about the baptism of Jesus and what that means for us. We read books and watched some video clips. The child who started the ball rolling wanted to proceed and 5 others joined him. These are children that, before Sunday School, AKA Jesus Church, really knew nothing about God or Jesus. They are grandchildren of church members, so their parents are not usually part of the congregation. We received a second blessing when the families of those children attended service to witness the event. Our service ended with the children helping to serve communion. What a glorious day! God is working here in our small church, and many seeds have been planted.
